SUMMARY

LOCATION: Downtown Indianapolis, IN (North Side)

Rivet Press is searching for a screen printer and manager of our day to day production process. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience operating an automatic screen printing press (preferably M&R equipment), and they will understand and implement the complete screen printing production process from start to finish -- from silk screen preparation to printing production setup and teardown. This position requires pride of workmanship and attention to detail.

This position requires a high level of knowledge and skill in the world of printmaking and screen printing. We can only consider candidates with demonstrated experience and expertise.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in ordering, receiving and counting of printing supplies and apparel inventory

  • Review specifications for each project to determine the best materials and methods for printing production quality and efficiency

  • Prepare art and print transparency film for silk screen exposure and creation

  • Create silk screen(s) by selecting the best mesh count, coating with emulsion, exposing / spraying out (and reclaiming once printing is completed)

  • Select, mix, and prepare inks that are best suited for each project

  • Set up automatic printing press including pallet setup, registration of silk screen(s), and programming of press rotation / print heads

  • Perform quality checks throughout production and verify that the proper quantity has been printed before cleaning and tearing down the press for the next project

  • Inspect and examine printed garments for clarity, color accuracy, conformance to specifications, and any defects

  • Document details of inks and printing methods for consistent and repeatable results

  • Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of printing equipment

  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in professional screen printing

  • Knowledge in plastisol, waterbase, and discharge inks

  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

  • Able to prioritize and meet deadlines

  • Organized

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs

COMPENSATION

Salary range $35,000 - $50,000/yr. Based on experience.
